Any person or organization related in any form to the 5th African Conference on Operations and Supply Chain Management (ACOSCM) accepts the following Terms & Conditions:

Kühne Foundation and Makerere University do not provide health, accident or liability insurance for participants in the African Conference on Operations and Supply Chain Management (ACOSCM) and any related event thereto such as trainings, in-class seminars, and field trips. Thus, Kühne Foundation and Makerere University do not take any liability for any kind of damage done to individual’s property, person or assets caused by negligence or willful acts of the participant and do not cover any damage claims.

During the ACOSCM the participants may experience cultural diversity significantly different from social values in their home country. To  ensure that all measures are taken for a safe participation, all participants declare their agreement with the following terms and will be responsible for their safety during his/her participation in all activities related to the Conference:

All participants are required to understand, appreciate, and freely and voluntarily execute the following terms:

1) General Waiver

• The participant releases and forever discharges the ACOSCM organizers, Kühne Foundation and Makerere University, and any other related and supporting organization from any liability and claim which arises or may later hereafter arise on account of any kind of nature with respect damage to anybody individual property, person (any bodily injury, personal injury, illness, death and, accident) or assets caused by the participant`s negligence or willful acts that may result from his/her participation  in any activity related to the Conference.
• The participants understands that ACOSCM organizers, Kühne Foundation and Makerere University, and any other related and supporting organization do not have any  civil  or  criminal  responsibility  in  the event  of  injury, accident, illness, death,  property  damage  or monetary loss that may result from the participant`s  participation in any activity associated with the Conference.

2) Medical Treatment 

• The participant agrees that for his/her participation in the activities associated with the Conference, he/she is responsible for organizing sufficient health insurance for the duration of the Conference, including arrival and departure days.
• The participant understands and appreciates the risks in connection with the conference participation, and voluntarily assumes those risks.
• The participant hereby releases and forever discharges ACOSCM organizers, Kühne Foundation and Makerere University, and any other related and supporting organization from any liability and claim which arises or may after hereafter arise on account of any first-aid treatment or other medical services in connection with an emergency or health problem during the participant`s participation in any activity related to the program.

3) The Posession, Distribution, and Consuption of Illegal Substances

• The participant understands and agrees that the possession, distribution, and consumption of illegal substances is prohibited during the participation in any activity associated with the Conference.
• The participant understands and agrees that the participant he/she shall shall be excluded from any activity related to the Conference once he/she is under the influence of any illegal substance.

4) Image Photo and Videao Release

• The participant understands and releases the organizers, Kühne Foundation and Makerere University, from any claim which arises or may hereafter arises on account of taking, recording, sending or receiving pictures or video media of herself/himself during the participation in any activity related to the Conference.
• The participant agrees that ACOSCM organizers, Kühne Foundation and Makerere University, and any other related and supporting organization are allowed to release these materials themselves or to share with third parties for publication on print and online media.

5) Governing Law

The governing law for any claims related to the 5th ACOSCM or Kühne Foundation is Swiss Law and the place of juristiction is Zurich, Switzerland.

6) Severability

If a provision of these Terms & Conditions for the 5th ACOSCM is or becomes legally invalid or if there is any gap that needs to be filled, the validity of the reaminder of the Terms & Conditions shall not be affected thereby,
